Tom joined Seedrs in 2012 as Chief Investment Officer having trained as a solicitor in London and as a lawyer in New York. He trained and qualified as a solicitor at Freshfields law firm, and started his career in their London office. He worked for 2.5 years in Freshfields’ capital markets team in Hong Kong, and then joined their New York project finance team where he worked for five years after becoming US qualified.
Tom’s role at Seedrs involves leading the investment team who are responsible for the on boarding of businesses looking to raise money all the way through to closing their round, preparing and executing the legal documentation and then monitoring each successfully funded company in Seedrs’ portfolio to ensure that investors are being protected. He spends a lot of time in an operational capacity, where he focuses on improving internal processes, reducing Seedrs’ cost base and creating a better experience for customers.Outside of work, Tom has a passion for photography as well as carpentry, and is teaching himself to build furniture.
